St Barnabas Church of England Primary School
St Barnabas’ is a Church of England School, founded in 1847 to serve the local community. It has a long tradition of welcoming children from Christian families and from other faiths and those of no faith.
The school celebrated its 175th Anniversary on 10th June 2022 and goes from strength to strength.
The school is rated 'good' by Ofsted.

In September 2020, St Barnabas’ Primary School & Nursery and St Matthew’s School have been working together in partnership.
Lauren Castle is the Headteacher of St Barnabas School.

Whilst maintaining the Christian ethos and distinctiveness of each individual school, The partnership aims to:
Each school has its own distinctive Christian vision and it’s own Governing Body. Each school will maintain an ethos that has Christian values at its core, with strong links to their respective parish churches. The Governing Bodies of both schools are pleased to be able to further build on the individual and collective strengths of each school. Sarah Green is the Headteacher of St Matthew's.

Over many years there have been staff who have worked at both St Barnabas and St Matthew's Schools, including; Miss Mayo, Miss Paramore, Mr Hicks, Mrs Faith, Ms Townshend, Mrs Charlton and Mrs Jewitt to name but a few.
